Privacy Policy

Itematize exists to hold the record of everything you owned during one of the worst weeks of your life. We treat that seriously. This policy says what we collect, what we do with it, and what we will never do with it.

What we collect

Your account details (name, email, and phone if you add it). Your claim details (property address, loss type, carrier, claim and policy numbers you choose to enter). Your inventory: items, photos, receipts, and documents you upload. When you talk with Tony or Anna, transcripts of the conversation and the items extracted from it. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.

What we do with it

We use your data to provide the Service: building your inventory, generating your reports, and showing it to the people you invite. We use your email for sign-in links, receipts, and service notices such as access ending reminders. That is it.

What we never do

We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. We do not share your inventory with insurers, data brokers, or anyone else you did not explicitly invite.

Who processes data for us

Like most software, we rely on infrastructure providers, each bound to process your data only to provide their service to us: Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Stripe (payments), OpenAI (voice conversations and item extraction), Anthropic (item analysis), Resend (email delivery), and Hetzner (application hosting). Voice conversations are processed by the AI providers to power the assistant; they are your content, not training fodder we sell.

Security

Your files live in private storage and are served through short-lived signed links. Every piece of your claim is scoped to your account with row-level security, checked on the server on every request. Sign-in is passwordless, so there is no Itematize password to steal or reuse.

Retention and deletion

Your purchase includes 24 months of access, then your account becomes read only and your data enters a retention lifecycle: archival and eventual deletion, with notice to your email before anything is removed. Export everything whenever you want. To delete your account and data sooner, email support@itematize.com and we will do it.

Your choices

You can download your full inventory, report, and spreadsheet at any time. You control who is invited to your claim and can remove them at any time. You can correct your details in Settings. Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights to access or delete your data; email us and we will honor them.

Children

The Service is for adults handling insurance claims and is not directed at children.
